A little something for the weekend ...

So after destroying all of our enemies generals, we decide to take the fight to him! Venorax, the corrupt gold dragon.

We set sail with the Aldorian Naval fleet filled with wood elf archers, dwarven warriors and King Bowen leading the assault. Teb’s brother collects 14 warships promised by the Goliath’s. As we pass more Aldorian ports more ships join and also the small Naval fleet from Gilshire set to aid Princess Regent Tebetha. The group, Bowen, Teb, Vicci and Grymmdar board a small ‘trade ship’ thats joined the armada so we can slip behind enemy line unnoticed while my eldest brother Thorun acts as decoy on the Aldorian flagship. In the misty ocean we are beset upon by our enemies drow pirate fleet. We managed to break through, fighting a few pirate ships. We encounter a Kraken guarding the shoreline of Venorax’s island. A huge battle ensues and we take out the pirate ships and the kraken leaving the aramada to mop up the rest of the drow.

Once on land, we take a small army with us. We see a tower we see in the centre of the island and discover that it used to be an old elven lighthouse or beacon. Fighting more soul eaters we make our way to the door and start to climb up the tower. At the top we see Venorax and Tebetha’s grandfather in crossed words and the rest of Tebetha family held in magicial cells beyond. Once we are discovered we are captured and put into a cell ourselves and forced to watch as Venorax is about to torture Tebetha’s father. At the last mintue, Teb’s father breaks free of his captor and shape shifts into dragon form taking Venorax out the window with him, giving us enough time to break free with Teb’s grandfather. 

We run up the remaining stairs to the roof and watch as they both coming crashing down through a bell tower. Venorax emerges victorious and gloats at the group. At which we all engage him in a final showdown.

Venorax’s rains down meteors from the sky. The battles rages on, as Venorax brings in his personal guard of souleaters.

Nearly on our knees, we whittle down his defences to nothing when Teb’s grandfather asks Teb’s activate the final failsafe he’d left in her care to finish him off. Knowing what it would do she be-grudgingly does so as he runs in to fray.

There’s an explosion of light. 

Left in the aftermath is a stone statue of Teb’s Grandfather Sekundus in his true form. Trapped in stone with the soul of Venorax as final prison and resting place. Sekundus still, somewhat, alive tells Tebetha to look after the family and take solace in the fact the world was safe now.

They rescue her father from under the rumble and the rest of the family from their cells and set sail for home.

Tebetha’s is crowned Queen of Gilshire, breaking her order’s code, leaving her capped in human form and with diminished magical power. Vicci re-joins his wife and takes over Corric’s business in D’Roc. Grymmdar stays on at Aldon city as Bowen’s counsellor and ambassador to the dwarves. In the following month Tebetha and Bowen are married, making them Emperor and Empress of the Aldorian Empire.

we all sort of knew this ending was on the cards for at least a year. Primarily because of the way the campaign rolled out and the relationship between bowen and teb. but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam.

there some minor points of differences here, mainly because trying to explain 2 years of playing and tiny plot details (that even I forgot or got lost on) would be killer.

So where do we go from here?

well Sekundus will be remain a petrified prison on the island but it’ll become a sanctuary and memorial used mainly by Tebetha’s family and her siblings. Her father Corric gave up trying to be a normal human and took to taking his father role of wise seer in the wood and is now more involved with his children unlike before. The siblings would overall remain close but would go off their own ways to find their place in the world. Solice and Benric would of stayed with Teb, Thorun would of gone back to Fendak with the Goliath’s and the Twin’s would of starting wandering about the world in search of stories.
